Sofia Lai is a London-based interdisciplinary artist working through textiles, sculpture, and image-making. Using found garments, layered fabrics, and sculptural forms, her practice explores memory, identity, and the emotional traces embedded within bodily experience. Through layered materials and distorted forms, Lai transforms garments into sculptural traces of memory, intimacy, and emotional tension.
Originally trained in fashion, Lai’s practice moves between sculpture, installation, and image-making, blurring the boundaries between body, object, and memory. Rooted in personal archives, dreams, and gestures of everyday life, her work reflects on intimacy, transformation, and the unstable nature of identity.
Her work has been presented through exhibitions, editorial collaborations, and independent projects across contemporary art and fashion contexts.
